The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is reportedly set to become the first Hindu temple to integrate AI into its pilgrim services. The temple trust recently signed an agreement with Google to introduce AI systems to ensure a smoother pilgrimage experience for devotees, reports stated.
Following a board meeting, TTD chairman BR Naidu, along with board members J Syamala Rao and Venkaiah Chowdary, reportedly announced the decision. The primary goal of this initiative is to reduce long waiting hours for common devotees seeking darshan at the temple.
As per reports, while the specific details of the partnership are still being finalised, the trust has emphasised that AI integration will focus heavily on crowd management solutions. This technology is expected to streamline the pilgrimage experience, addressing one of the most common challenges faced by visitors.
Earlier in Ayodhya, Staqu Technologies, a Gurgaon-based AI startup, introduced its AI-powered audio-video analytics software called Jarvis. This software, integrated into the city’s existing surveillance systems, can analyse real-time video footage to identify suspicious activities and potential threats, alerting authorities immediately.
Authorities in Ayodhya have also employed AI-enabled cameras, radio frequency identification (RFID) wristbands, drone surveillance and mobile app tracking to monitor pilgrim movements throughout the 45-day religious event. These measures have been designed to improve crowd regulation and manage entry and exit times efficiently.During the Maha Kumbh Mela, the Uttar Pradesh government launched ‘Kumbh Sah‘AI’yak’, an AI-powered chatbot available in 11 languages. This virtual assistant offered pilgrims essential information about key dates and events during the Maha Kumbh.
