Deloitte has successfully launched its ‘Deloitte-1’ satellite with the help of SpaceX, and space-focused data and analytics company Spire. This launch is positioned as a step towards leveraging insight for clients and expanding its capabilities for space platforms.

Jason Girzadas, CEO of Deloitte (US), broke the news on LinkedIn on Wednesday, saying, “The successful launch of our Deloitte-1 satellite marks a significant milestone in harnessing space-enabled insights to empower our clients with real-time, informed decision-making.”

He added, “We’re driving space-enabled innovation and shaping what’s possible for industries both on and off this planet.”

The firm’s broader space strategy, outlined in a recent blog post, emphasises its goal to serve both commercial and government entities involved in space activities. Deloitte stated that it identifies government and private sector collaboration as essential for maintaining US competitiveness in space, spanning launch, acquisition, operations, resource exploitation, resilience, and exploration.

The company highlighted that it has established ‘Deloitte Space’, which it claims to be the first professional services practice focused on the entire space value chain. The practice aims to support various stakeholders, including government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and emerging space startups.

The company stated that their specialists for space services have expertise in rocket launches, satellite remote sensing, global telecommunications, commercial space economy analysis, and private investment in space technology. It also added that its model tools are capable of market analysis, forecasting market size and analysing growth catalysts in the commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and human spaceflight sectors.

Deloitte offers a global network of space professionals in various locations, including Washington, DC, Colorado, California, Texas, Alabama, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, and the United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, the company also launched a Global AI Simulation Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Tuesday as part of its investment in generative AI.
